At the end of the day, the "RQ team" is just Jeff and I. Everyone else is either a shared resource or an external contractor with their own schedule and availability.
I'm stretched between RQ and another game line, and Jeff is creative director for all of Chaosium's game lines (RQ, Call of Cthulhu, Pendragon, Questworlds, Rivers of London, 7th Sea, fiction, boardgames, etc.). He also handles many high-level tasks for the whole rest of the company relating to contracts and other negotiations. We also have many projects in the works that have not been announced, but still take time.

Art direction for a RQ/Glorantha product takes a considerable amount of our time and focus, more than other games as the subject matter is so specific and we have set our graphical standards very high. Recruiting and managing artists capable of doing RQ/Glorantha artwork is also much more involved, and even when we have all of the art in place, our production pipeline and resources are shared with multiple other projects.

Believe me, it would be awesome if we could just firehose material out the door as quickly as we'd like, but in the real world, we must make strategic choices about what to work on at any given time and what products we'll focus on before others and in what order they'll be released. We think that other projects in development are more critical to the longterm health of the line than the Gods book.

To be clear, that book is a huge priority, so much so that we've signed an all-star artist to an exclusive contract and have brought in an additional resource to make the book all it can be, but we also need to focus on other products to make sure the line both finds it audience and retains its fan base.

As an aside, we don't do these books to meet some kind of arbitrary "release schedule" - each book we release is a product of art from one or more people on our team. That goes trebly for what I consider the "cornerstone books" - the Cults Book, Sartar, the RQ Campaign, and HeroQuesting. Those are done when they are done, and getting the art done right is as important or even more important as the text.
So on the Cults book - for reasons of consistent vision, I have a small team of artists doing the work. Loic Muzy and Agathe Pitie are doing a bang up job on the art, but it is a lot of pieces. Francesca Baerald has done an AMAZING job on the mythological maps.
The Prosopaedia will be entering into layout first, possibly next month. But there is still a lot of art to finish on the Cults Book. This is going to be a lavish book, far more lavish than even RQG or the Guide. It is a book about creative Mythology as much as an RPG product, and is a very much an artistic tribute to my friend and mentor. So relax a little bit, the book is going to be amazing and well worth the wait.

The Cults Book is about 480,000 words, and the Prosopaedia is some 80,000 words. There are about 750 entries in the Prosopaedia. Just to give some numbers.
The Cults Book is coming in a slim case, with two beautiful hard-cover volumes, plus a perfect bound soft cover Prosopaedia.

Il y a une TONNE de travail sous-jacent sous cette carte - démographie, cultes, forêts, météo, etc.
La carte du livre sera au format A1 (841 x 594 mm).

Et il aura quelques modifications par rapport aux cartes de l'Argan Argar Atlas:

Les cartes dessinées à la main sont plus précises. D'un autre côté, leur assemblage prend beaucoup plus de temps que celui des cartes du Guide que Colin et moi avons réalisées - et surtout, nous n'avions pas toutes ces cartes à notre disposition lorsque nous travaillions sur le Guide. Pour faire court, dans les années 1990, Greg avait perdu une grande partie du produit de ses travaux des années 1970 et 1980 et ne l'a récupéré que peu de temps avant sa mort.
